West Midlands Combined Universities (WMCU) showcased projects at MIPIM – the annual international property convention held in Cannes.
The Chief Executive of WMCU, Wayne Langford, joined a delegation of Midlands Engine private and public sector partners to put the Midlands on the map at the four day event earlier this month.
Wayne said: “MIPIM is one of the most important real estate shows in the annual property calendar and offers the combined universities an ideal platform to talk directly to investors, developers and financial institutions.
“Through partnership working there are potential benefits to investing in the combined strength of our three institutions with partners making a contribution to shaping the curriculum to ensure that it meets the skills needs of the region.
“The recent Housing Deal announcement in the Spring Statement by the Chancellor, Philip Hammond, which pledges a package of £350 million of new Government funding to support the delivery of new homes in the West Midlands, is an exciting milestone for the Midlands and it’s been interesting to see ambitious building plans being unveiled by Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Coventry at this high-profile event.
